Father Of Slain Detroit Mother Taken Into Custody; Kids Remain Missing

Georgia police have arrested the husband of a woman who was found dead in an empty Detroit, Michigan home earlier this week, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Erin Justice was detained by Atlanta authorities Wednesday in connection to the shooting death of his wife, Alicia Fox, whose two children remain missing. Police also announced Thursday they arrested a second man in connection to the woman's death.

Fox was found dead Monday wrapped in blankets with two bullet wounds to the head in the vacant home's basement, which is reportedly six miles from where she lived. Her body was discovered by family members who received an anonymous tip that her body might be in the area, the newspaper reported.

A search warrant was issued Wednesday night for another Detroit home that Fox used to live in with her family. A bulled was recovered from a recently painted wall and blood was found in an upstairs bedroom, a source close to the investigation told the newspaper.

The bedroom was inhabited by Fox and her two children, 6-year-old Kaylah Hunter and 8-month-old Kristian Justice. Authorities continue to search for both children, who were reportedly last seen at the end of May.

Justice was arrested Wednesday in Atlanta, a day after he was already questioned and released there by federal authorities.

"We believe (Justice) has information that can lead us to the children but we're not certain...We're hopeful the children are alive," Detroit Police Chief James Craig told the Associated Press. "That's the story we want to bring to you and the grieving family of the mother. That's our hope."

Gwendolyn Giles, who said she is the cousin of Kaylah's father, who is not Justice, told the Detroit Free Press the family is still "hoping for the best, but it's not looking good."

The second suspect, a 27-year-old man, was arrested in Detroit and charged as an accessory after the fact, WJBK-TV reported.

Justice, Kristian's father, is awaiting extradition to Detroit, the station reported.
