The Kardashians are in the news again, and this time they are up against Governor Andrew Cuomo and other New York State officials.
New York State Department of Agriculture, to be specific, has declared war on Khloe Kardashian, youngest of the Kardashian siblings, and her husband Lamar Odom after officials caught wind of a graphic T-shirt produced by the Kardashian/Odom clothing line, Rich Soil.
The lawsuit, which will be underway very soon, is seeking for the Los Angeles-based apparel company to stop selling the graphic T-shirt that resembles a New York State Department of Agriculture logo. The stars have less than a week to comply before legal action is said to commence, according to The New Daily News.
The logo in question echoes the "Pride of New York" trademark found on a state operated website encouraging residents to buy locally. In a letter sent to Rich Soil, Susan Rosenthal, lawyer for the Department of Agriculture argued, "the State of New York has invested substantial time, effort and resources creating the respect and goodwill associated with the trademark," and asked that Rich Soil promptly disclose how much money it has made off any merchandise that has the logo. The letter also asked that all T-shirt sales and advertisements featuring the logo cease immediately.
Neither the Cuomo administration or Boulevard Management, the Kardashian's production company, have chosen to directly make a comment on the situation.
According to the company website, Rich Soil "is a clothing line that promotes creative design, spiritual iconic imagery, and the shared idea that growth can come from virtually anywhere...Rich Soil seeks to be at the forefront of new ideas," and "draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of experiences."
