LG updated its official website with few more details about the G Watch that shows an always-on screen, two color models and a dust and water resistant build.

LG, one of the biggest electronic companies, revealed some more details on its upcoming G Watch. The electronics giant updated the official website with new specs and images that confirm two color variants, dust and water resistance and an always-on display for the G Watch.

LG G Watch will be compatible with a wide range of Android smartphones as the smartwatch will be powered by Google's latest OS for wearables, Android Wear, which was announced last month. With the news, LG joins Motorola in offering their first wearable smartwatches based on Android Wear platform. More companies are expected to join the bandwagon later this year.

The G Watch will come in a new color variant, which LG refers to as "Champagne Gold." The new color model will be an alternative to the "Stealth Black" G Watch. Both models will feature plain rubbery straps but the Champagne Gold G Watch will feature a white belt unlike Stealth Black's corresponding black strap.

The South Korean electronics giant is planning to launch the G Watch during the second quarter of 2014. A specific date for the release is yet to be announced by the company.

As for the other new specs revealed by LG, G Watch will be water and dust resistant. The G Watch will be suitable for outdoor activities, such as trekking, skiing, and rafting. Most smartwatches feature a similar build to protect against damage from dust and water, as seen in Pebble and Sony smartwatches but the added feature makes the G Watch more competitive in the market.

LG is also adding an always-on display that will show basic information such as time and weather without having to wake-up with a gesture, as in Samsung Gear 2. The G Watch also responds to the "Ok Google" command to carry out various operations or even get answers to users' questions.
