Kim Kardashian and her fiancé Kanye West will reportedly get married in a secret ceremony prior to their Paris nuptials. According to The Sun (via the Daily Mail), a French law requiring a 40-day residency before a wedding can take place has really thrown a damper into their plans.

Last week, Radar Online reported that a "strict" French law states that at least one person needs to have lived in France for at least 40 days before they can legally get married there. West does have an apartment in Paris but it's not his main home.

"They could face the humiliation of the wedding being cancelled at the last minute," a source told The Sun. "So they've decided to get married behind closed doors in Los Angeles before they fly out to France."

The source claims that West and Kardashian will exchange vows in Kris Jenner's office in front of a few close witnesses. It's not clear if E! cameras will be present for the alleged secret ceremony but they are expected to film at the Chateau d'Usse in Paris on May 24.

According to reports, the wedding will air separately from "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" in a two-part special. It's been said that cameras have already been following around West and Kardashian as they finalize last minute plans.

"They have filmed some things already to be on the upcoming special and will film stuff afterwards as well," a source told Hollywood Life. "But the Kim and Kanye special will be a stand-alone show on E!"

"The event is way too important to only broadcast on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,'" another source told the site.

According to a recent report by the site, the couple and parents to daughter North West worked out a second deal with Vogue editor Anna Wintour and will reportedly have their wedding photos published in the magazine.
