New York Nursing Home Sued For Hiring Strippers To Entertain Residents

A nursing home in New York is being sued by the son of a resident who claims they hired strippers to entertain his mother and other residents, Syracuse.com reported.

Bernice Youngblood, 85, was seen stuffing money into the briefs of one stripper in a photo taken during the show, according to a report in the New York Post.

Others at the East Neck Nursing Center in West Babylon are seen in the picture watching the performance as well.

Youngblood's son, Franklin, claims in the lawsuit that he came across the picture when organizing his mother's possessions in January. When he approached the staff, they allegedly tried to take it from him.

The staff later told the family that it was an "entertainment show" done in "good faith." However, the lawsuit believes otherwise.

"Plaintiff Bernice Youngblood was placed in apprehension of imminent, offensive, physical harm, as she was confused and bewildered as to why a muscular, almost nude man, was approaching her and placing his body and limbs, over [her]," the suit claims.

It also argues that hiring strippers was a "serial occurrence" truly done for the "perverse pleasure and enjoyment of the Defendant's staff."

The Youngblood family also discusses concern of the money seen in the photo, which they say should have been locked in her account.

"Bernice Youngblood has lived 85 years as a traditional Baptist, hard-working, lady...And now she has been defiled," said family attorney John Ray.

The nursing home has not commented on the incident and did not return a call to comment from the Post.
