Instagram has released a faster and better Android version to make it look more native, simpler, and more user-friendly.
The photo-sharing app's Android version underwent a major revamping on Tuesday, which made it faster and better for a great lineup of Android devices, such as smartphones, phablets, and tablets.
"We've worked to make sure that Instagram feels native and at home on any Android device," said Instagram in its blog post. "We've simplified our visuals throughout our app, making use of valuable screen space for small devices and feature phones and rearranging our design to keep buttons within easy reach as you navigate the app on a larger device."
With the newest 5.1 update, which can now be downloaded in Google Play Store, users will see a decrease in the size of the app's look by about 50 percent. The decrease in its size will make way for the reorganized buttons that will provide an easier navigation on different handsets. The buttons, including ones for adjusting Instagram's in-app camera settings and ones for editing photos, though reorganized, will be displayed depending on how wide the device's screen is. The alterations made let the app's profile screen load 100 percent faster.
"The changes mean a faster, more responsive app. Your profile screen now loads twice as fast, and we've cut the overall size in half to increase speed throughout Instagram," added the company in its blog post.
However, unlike Instagram's iOS app update earlier this week, which included a slider to the app's Lux tool, the Android update does not include new additional creative tools. Lux tool enhances the saturation of a photo so users can fine-tune or alter the level of color saturation in their photos.
Nevertheless, Android users shouldn't be saddened by that as a spokesperson for Instagram told Mashable that the Lux tool would be "coming soon" to Android devices.
