Jennifer Lopez Escorted To Safety After Gunshots Fired During a Music Video Shoot In Florida

Jennifer Lopez was quickly escorted to safety after three gunshots were fired while the singer was shooting a music video for her upcoming single "Live It Up" in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, reports LA Times.

Lopez was in a middle of a shoot for her next upcoming single in collaboration with rapper PitBull, when three gunshots were fired in the northern side of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park Sunday. Lopez was on the sets with her crew and boyfriend Casper Smart and was quickly escorted to safety until the police arrived at the scene. Police investigated the surrounding areas of the park, but found no evidence or any witnesses.

Lopez was being interviewed by "Entertainment Tonight's" Rob Marciano about her upcoming music, video which is set to release Wednesday, before the shots were fired. Marciano broke the news via Twitter about the firing. "BREAKING: Gunshots fired on Fort Lauderdale Beach DURING my JLo interview. No kidding. Security scrambled her away," read the tweet.

"Can hear & see ambulances converging ~400 yards down the street," he wrote, later adding, "Police confirming: 'shots fired. no one hit.' Whew."

According to the police, Lopez and Cuban rap star PitBull were shooting at the southern side of the park while the firing occurred in the north side of the park at around 7:30 p.m. Although, police did not identify any shooter, several beach goers were detained to investigate the matter.

Neither PitBull nor Lopez commented on the incident. On Monday, PitBull wrote on his Twitter page thanking Lopez for the collaboration. After the international success of "On The Floor and "Dance Again," PitBull and Lopez have teamed up together for the fifth time.

"thank u @JLo for another amazing opportunity & giving me a chance 2 learn from u muchas muchas gracias besoteeeee," rapper wrote.

The latest song produced by RedOne will be released Wednesday, May 8. According to rap-up.com, Lopez will also be performing at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 19.
