Michigan Woman Bites Boyfriend's Ear Off During Heated Argument; Danielle Nebelung Says She Acted in Self-Defense (VIDEO)

A Michigan man was rushed into emergency surgery after his girlfriend reportedly bit off part of his ear in the heat of a violent argument.

Law enforcement officials told My Fox Detroit that 36-year-old Macomb Township resident Anthony Corruso and his partner Danielle Nebelung were fighting on Saturday inside their house on Marseilles Road near Romeo Plank and 22 Mile Road.

According to Lt. John Michalke, Corruso reportedly tried to remove himself from the situation, walking away from Nebelung when the argument started to escalate.

But this allegedly angered the 31-year-old woman - when Corruso tried to turn and leave, Nebelung flung herself onto him, jumping onto his back and biting off a piece of his ear.

But Nebelung told police officers called to the scene that she was defending herself against Corruso, who was reportedly trying to sexually assault her. According to My Fox Detroit, the 31-year-old Macomb Township resident was trying to push Corruso off of her while he attempted to rape her.

Medical officials who arrived at the Marseilles Road home on Saturday found the piece of Corruso's ear inside the residence, then escorted the man to a nearby hospital. Doctors told Fox that they were unsure whether they could carry out a fully successful surgery.

Nebelung was arrested and charged with one count of a misdemeanor Aggravated Assault over the weekend. She was then arraigned on Monday afternoon, Fox reported.

Corruso stated he'd be seeking tougher charges against girlfriend Nebelung.

Nebelung is currently being held on a $10,000 bond, and is slated to appear in court March 17.
