Want to know what the rest of the world thinks about Americans? Just look at how they party.
There's a smorgasbord of Instagram pictures of young people around the world at "American" themed parties- filled with flannel shirts, popcorn, beer, American flags and burgers.
Most of the American themed parties are apparently in Europe, including France, Spain, Amsterdam, Russia and Finland, according to BuzzFeed.
These folks partied "American" in Amsterdam, according to Instagram comments.
This might be how the world thinks Americans party, but to some Americans it was hilarious, and confusing.
"Hahaha its so funny people throw American parties! I had no idea!" the_mani_ac wrote on Instagram.
"I am American and I have no clue what those pink things are," peightonkatja wrote.
This is another American party in Russia,
and a closeup of American party marshmallows:
"What's with the marshmallows I keep seeing?" the_mani_ac wrote. "We eat those when we go camping lol. We eat potato chips and pizza at parties."
One thing most American themed parties seem to agree on is that Americans wear flannel shirts and drink from red cups.
Like at this party in France:
And this one in the United Kingdom:
Perhaps the red cups truly are an American thing, there is even a song about them by Toby Keith, titled "Red Solo Cup."
It appears Americans, however, are eager to set the record straight on how to party in the U.S.
"Come to California," pilgr3m wrote on Instagram. "I can show you how Americans party."
