High winds obliterated plans for a stellar lineup including Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keyes and Mary J. Bilge.

What promised to be an epic music festival in Las Vegas featuring a stellar lineup — including Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Usher and the Backstreet Boys — was cancelled on the eve of its opening due to high winds.

The "Lover and Friends" festival revealed the news on their official website.

"Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff and cancel tomorrow's Lovers & Friends Festival," said the notice posted the day before the planned Saturday date.

The statement announced that "this was an incredibly heartbreaking decision to make, as we are aware that fans have traveled from all over the world to enjoy this incredible lineup of superstars and have been looking forward to this event for several months."

Luckily, some ticket holders will be able to receive a refund, according to CNN.

In addition to Keys, Blige, Jackson, and Stefani, "Lovers & Friends" included a slew of other music legends like Usher, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Nelly Furtado, TLC, and M.I.A.

The one-day fest, scheduled at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, has been a highlight of the music scene since its start in 2022.
