Police in Southern California were piecing together a family's tragic deaths that stretched across three crime scenes across Los Angeles County on Monday.

It started with a woman apparently killing her husband at their home.

She then left with her two young daughters but abandoned them on the busy 405 Freeway, where one of them died.

She then crashed into a tree in Redondo Beach and died.

The first incident investigated was the 405 Freeway scene. Officers responded at around 4:30 a.m. to find a baby girl, about 5 or 6 months old dead and a 9-year-old injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash was reported about 30 minutes later.

Then at around 7:35 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department says they got a call about a "body found" at an apartment in Woodland Hills.

Responding officers found the homicide victim. It was unclear how he died.

The LAPD confirmed they were investigating a connection between all three incidents. No names were released.

A neighbor in the apartment complex told KNBC that a man and woman lived in the apartment with their two children and they had heard fighting coming from the apartment in the past.

The woman, who didn't want to be identified, said there was some sort of commotion in the family's apartment around 3:40 a.m. Monday.
