The estimated Powerball jackpot jumped to $975 million Sunday after a near-record 38th consecutive drawing without a top prize winner.

The pot continued to swell after the numbers in Saturday night's drawing - 12, 13, 33, 50, 52 and the red Powerball 23 - didn't match any ticket sold.

A sole winner now stands to pocket their choice of an estimated $975 million paid over a 30-year annuity, or a one-time lump sum payment of $471.7 million.

No one has won Powerball's jackpot since New Year's Day, when a lucky ticket sold in Michigan paid out to the tune of $842.4 million.

There have now been 38 straight drawings without a jackpot win.

The record drought is 41 drawings, a run reached in both 2021 and 2022, according to the Associated Press.

The next drawing is set for Monday at 11 p.m. EDT.

The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338.

Last week, a Mega Millions ticket sold in New Jersey beat even longer odds - 1 in 302,575,350 - to pay out an estimated $1.13 billion jackpot in that game.
