The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) distributed a video that supposedly disclosed the presence of Yahya Sinwar, the head of Hamas, in Gaza. Taking place barely three days after a serious terrorist incident, the video, which was dated October 10, depicts Sinwar along with his family and a person who has not been recognized.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) besieged Sinwar's apartment in December, although they were unsuccessful in their attempts to capture him. In response to the intensification of Israeli operations in the northern portion of the Gaza territory, it is thought that Hamas officials moved to the southern section of the territory.

Tunnels, which are strategically positioned beneath heavily populated places and funded with help that is intended for civilians, are used by the organization as a means of providing refuge.

Despite increasing tensions, the Israeli military intends to invade the densely populated city of Rafah, located in the southern region. This metropolis is home to more than one million Palestinians who have sought security there after receiving directives from the Israeli government to leave their homes and move southward. This action raises worries about the possibility of military operations taking place in such a densely populated region, according to Washington Examiner.

US, Allies Warn of Consequences

The United States of America, together with a number of other nations, has issued a warning against the disastrous implications that may result from large-scale Israeli operations in the region, without taking into consideration the huge refugee population.

Despite the fact that Israel maintains that it is necessary to eliminate the last surviving Hamas battalions and capture commanders such as Sinwar, the scenario is causing international concern because of the possibility of civilian fatalities.

At the same time, Israel has released more footage claiming that Sinwar, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the October 7 attacks, was spotted inside a tunnel beneath Gaza. In a recently captured video, Sinwar can be seen exploring the tunnels of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, accompanied by his children.

The footage was recorded by a Hamas security camera. However, the video does not show Sinwar's face.

Amidst the ongoing conflict, Avichay Adraee, a spokesperson for the IDF, suggested that Israel is closing in on Hamas' leadership, describing them as "living on borrowed time." Adraee's social media post accused Sinwar of hiding in tunnels while the people of Gaza suffer, characterizing him as a coward on the run.

Due to rising tensions and enhancing military operations, the situation remains extremely complicated. Israel is emphasizing its security concerns, while the international community is urging restraint to prevent a potential humanitarian catastrophe, Telegraph reported.
