Square Enix recently announced that Dragon Quest Builders, its beloved survival RPG, is finally coming to PC and Steam after seven years.

The game, which was originally released in 2016, is an open-world survival game that mixes Micraft's blocks with Dragon Quest's lore. It lets players build bases while playing through pre-written storylines and quests.

Square Enix suddenly announced that its Dragon Quest Builders survival RPG game will be coming to PC and Steam next month.

Dragon Quest Builders first launched on PS3 and PS4 in 2016 and two years later, it came out on the Nintendo Switch. After that, the video game came out on mobile phones as well but it never saw a release on PC, that is, until now.

On Jan. 29, 2024, the gaming company out of nowhere announced that the original Dragon Quest Builders game would be available to PC users starting on Feb. 23, 2024. What makes the news interesting is that the game's sequel, Dragon Quest Builders 2, is already available on consoles and PCs in the United States after launching in 2019.

Square Enix will also be selling a bundle on Steam that puts both games together in one package. One question that many players could be wondering about is whether or not Xbox players will get access to Dragon Quest Builders later this year, as per Kotaku.

The gaming company also revealed that the new edition of the game will include "upgraded crafting features" and will also come with the Terra Incognita DLC pack. This is a pack that mobile users first had the pleasure of playing without having to pay anything.

The people who buy and play the survival RPG game on PC will be able to build and destroy much easier than before. The new edition introduces new functions and player moves that are not found in the original release.

A Variety of New Features

There will also be plenty of collectibles to keep players busy, including NPS and monster figures as well as a range of "useful items" and multiplayer rewards. After Square Enix's announcement of the PC launch, players who want the game can pre-order it for $27.99 on Steam, according to PC Games.

On the other hand, those who want to buy the package that includes both Dragon Quest Builders and its sequel, can pre-order the bundle that costs $69.40. Fortunately for those who already own the second game, they will be given a discount if they want to buy the first one.

Players who dive into the world of Dragon Quest Builders will be tasked with rebuilding the ruined realm of Alefgard. The new edition for PC upgrades crafting features, notably single mouse-click building, a new undo button to revert any changes made, and the Big Bash feature from its successor.

People can also share their builds with friends by saving their structures as Build Cards. The new edition's Terra Incognita DLC also includes a boss model set, an astronomy set, a Pixel Ring that lets you craft special and unique items, and a magic carpet. The latter will let players glide through the sky to enjoy the scenery, said GameSpot.
