Actor Jonathan Majors leaves the courthouse following closing arguments in Majors' domestic violence trial at Manhattan Criminal Court on December 15, 2023 in New York City. Majors had plead not guilty but faces up to a year in jail if convicted on misdemeanor charges of assault and harassment of an ex-girlfriend.

He also lamented about being dropped by Marvel/Disney as a major villain in its current arc.

His comments come from an interview on ABC's Good Morning America, and drew criticism from her attorney, Brittany Henderson. "The timing of these new statements demonstrates a clear lack of remorse for the actions for which he was found guilty and should make the sentencing decisions fairly easy for the court."

Majors also stated that he planned on appealing the jury's December decision to find him guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment. He was acquitted of two counts of assault and aggravated because of a split decision.

"I'm standing there and the verdict comes down. I say, 'How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution's evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?'" Majors said in the interview.

When asked by interviewer Linsey Davis how Jabbari received a cut behind her ear as well as a fractured finger after the widely publicized altercation that saw Majors fleeing down the street for several blocks, he responded; "I wish to God I knew. That would give me clarity, that would give me some type of peace about it."

"I was reckless with her heart" but not with her body and denied ever hitting her or any other woman," he added.

"I'm an athlete. I'm a sportsman. I know my body. I know how it moves. I know my strength, or lack thereof, you know? None of that was employed on her," he said. "It's like you work so hard for things. And then, you know, it's done."

Jonathan Majors is slated to be sentenced in February and faces up to a year in prison on the assault conviction. The harassment conviction carries a max penalty of 15 days in jail and a $250 fine.
