After nine years of waiting, Taylor Swift released a rerecorded of her 2014 pop hit '1989 (Taylor's Version)' this Friday, October 27, 2023.

It has been Taylor's "wildest dreams" to release her fourth rerecorded album following 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' in April 2021, 'Red (Taylor's Version)' in November 2021, and 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' in July.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - DECEMBER 10: Taylor Swift performs during her '1989' World Tour at AAMI Park on December 10, 2015 in Melbourne, Australia.

Taylor Swift posted multiple photos of her on the beach and a handwritten letter on her Instagram minutes after releasing '1989 (Taylor's Version)'.

Swift wrote on Instagram that she was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time, and a part of her was reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of the album she loves so dearly. She said that never in her wildest dreams did she imagine the magic Swifties would sprinkle on her life for so long.

"This moment is a reflection of the woods we've wandered through, and all this love between us is still glowing in the darkest dark," Swift's letter continues. "I present to you, with gratitude and wild wonder, my version of 1989. It's been waiting for you."

'1989 (Taylor's Version)' has five new 'vault' tracks titled 'Slut (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault),' 'Say Don't Go (Taylor's Version) (From the Vault),' 'Now That We Don't Talk (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault),' 'Suburban Legends (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)' and 'Is It Over Now (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault).'

She shared that '1989 (Taylor's Version)' was her favorite rerecorded album as she described her bonus tracks as insane. She cannot believe these bonus tracks did not make it on the original album before, but she has finally released the most awaited vault tracks.

According to Billboard, four of Swift's chart-topping songs came from her 1989 album in 2014 which are 'Wildest Dreams' (#10), 'Bad Blood' (#8), 'Blank Space' (#4) and 'Shake It Off' (#1).

Furthermore, the new versions of 'Clean,' 'New Romantics, 'Welcome To New York,' and 'Style' are on the album.

However, her '1989 (Taylor's Version)' may disappoint Swifties as she did not collaborate with other artists on the album. Swift did not pull off a surprise to fans this time.

Superstar to Billionaire

With the success of 'The Eras Tour' and film, Swift has officially reached the billionaire status with her fellow billionaire artists such as Rihanna and Jay-Z.

According to ET, Swift was among the few recording artists to raise a 10-figure fortune almost entirely from her music. While Rihanna's riches came from her Fenty Beauty and clothing lines, and Jay-Z reached his billionaire status through a series of investments, businesses, and endeavors.

This month, 'The Eras Tour' was a record-breaking and multi-billion dollar tour. Her music records also remained at the top of the box office charts.

She first rerecorded her music in 2019 when music executive Scooter Braun purchased her former label, Big Machine, for a reported $300 million. The purchase made Braun receive majority ownership of her master recordings.

Swift was unsatisfied that her music did not belong to her, and she shared she asked for a chance to own her work but was denied.

After the release of '1989 (Taylor's Version)', the Swifties are thrilled to hear the two remaining albums, 'Reputation' and 'Taylor Swift,' whose release dates have yet to be announced.
