Erin Andrews will replace Brooke Burke-Charvet on Season 18 of "Dancing With the Stars." Just days after Burke-Charvet was fired a source confirmed to E! News that the Fox Sports Reporter will be taking her place on the upcoming season.

"Welcome back to #dwts @ErinAndrews. It'll be like when we co-hosted the Scripps Spelling Bee  but with easier words," co-host Tom Bergeron tweeted.

Burke-Charvet, who was stunned by the "elimination," announced on her departure on Twitter writing: "Weird day... Shocking pre-season eliminations #DWTS... ME," she tweeted Feb. 22. "@Tom_Bergeron didn't even read my name. I won't be back to the show this season."

Bergeron, who co-hosted with Burke-Charvet responded with: "@brookeburke Weird day, indeed. Won't be the same without you. Dinner soon. No spray tanning required."

She was co-host for seven seasons. The TV personality first appeared on the show as a contestant on Season 7, ultimately winning the mirror ball trophy with her partner Derek Hough. Andrews also competed on the show with her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy in Season 10.

"I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting 'DWTS' but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture," she said in a statement to E! News. "I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of my contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake."

Sources told E! that Burke-Charvet had no idea her job was on the line and ABC didn't inform her of their decision until Friday, Feb. 21. Last month, "Dancing With the Stars" announced that they were firing their longtime music director Harold Wheeler and his 28-member band. Reportedly they are going to use a small electronic band and sound recording to attract a younger audience.

Season 18 airs March 17 on ABC.
