A man in Florida was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly doused his girlfriend's puppy in hot sauce, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Ephrian Myles, 47, was charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty after fully slathering the dog in the spicy condiment, including it's eyes and throat.

According to police, Gizmo -- the 3-month-old dachshund-chihuahua mix -- has a history of seizures and began yelping during one while Myles got annoyed and poured the sauce on him. His girlfriend then took her puppy to a fire station for help.

Two officers that arrived at the home said Gizmo was having trouble breathing, had swollen eyes, and became limp, prompting them to bathe him to help the irritation.

When questioning Myles, he claimed he had nothing to do with the puppy or the pool of hot sauce found in the home. He was eventually transported to Sarasota County Jail.

The puppy was turned into animal services and is expected to make a full recovery.
