Helene Fischer told fans she would need to take a break and continue with the concert, but organizers have called the show off 15 minutes later.

German pop star Helene Fischer was injured after a freak accident happened during one of her acrobatic performances in Hannover Sunday night (June 18).

Fischer was swinging above the audience when she suddenly dropped and hit her head against the trapeze. The incident happened while she was singing her song "Wounds," which she completed before advising the audience she would "just need to clean" the blood flowing from the wound.

After 15 minutes, concert organizer Live Nation advised the audience that the rest of the show was canceled due to the incident being a "medical necessity." The show just began an hour before Fischer was injured.

"There was a weird sound," recalled one audience member to the German newspaper Bild about the moment of the accident. Another person understood why the show needed to be canceled. "I hope she recovers quickly," the fan added.

An official from Live Nation said 38-year-old Fischer was given medical attention, and there was no further information available yet about the nature of her injury.

Videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media, and many of them were amazed by Fischer's determination to keep the show going despite sustaining injury.

Fischer was known for her acrobatic performances, and she already suffered a broken rib in March while rehearsing for a performance. The concert was the 42nd in her current tour across the DACH region, which would continue in August in Cologne after a planned summer break.

Most of her songs are in German and are loved by her fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
