Antony Blinken says he never emailed first son, Hunter Biden, despite emails between the two appearing on the "laptop from hell."
  • Anthony Blinken insisted he was not behind the infamous letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials
  • Morrell revealed that Blinken was behind the public statement claiming Hunter Biden's laptop was disinformation
  • Emails suggest that Blinken and his wife had been in communication with the first son for a long time

Secretary of State Antony Blinken denied involvement in the 2020 letter signed by 51 current and former intelligence officers attempting to undermine Hunter Biden's laptop as part of a Russian disinformation effort.

In October 2020, only weeks before the presidential election, hundreds of former national security officials signed a statement alleging that Hunter Biden's laptop bore "all the hallmarks of a Russian information operation."

Anthony Blinken Denies Involvement

Former CIA Director John Brennan, former Obama DNI James Clapper, and former CIA Director, then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta were among the former officials.

Former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morrell testified before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees last month, revealing that Blinken was "the impetus" behind the public statement signed in October 2020 that claimed Hunter Biden's laptop was disinformation.

Based on Morell's testimony, Republican lawmakers concluded that the Biden campaign "played an active role in the origins of the public statement, which had the effect of helping to suppress the Hunter Biden story and preventing American citizens from making a fully informed decision during the 2020 presidential election."

The discoveries have sparked Republican claims that America's top diplomat committed perjury only weeks before he was formally appointed to President Joe Biden's cabinet. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) alleged on Fox News Sunday that Blinken "lied boldface to Congress about never emailing Hunter Biden."

Last week, The Washington Post reported on contact between Hunter Biden, Blinken, and Blinken's wife, Evan Ryan, while the couple worked for Joe Biden's vice presidential office and later at the Obama-era State Department.

Lying to Congress is a felony punishable by up to five years in jail. Still, the Justice Department, overseen by Attorney General Merrick Garland, will decide whether to charge such individuals.

According to an IRS whistleblower who alerted lawmakers on April 19 to claim a coverup, Garland allegedly offered misleading testimony to Congress on the independence of Hunter Biden's criminal tax fraud investigation.

Republicans have been increasingly critical of Blinken for his alleged role in obscuring President Biden's position in the overseas business dealings of his son Hunter and brother James Biden.

The House Judiciary Committee published deposition testimony from ex-CIA acting director Michal Morell last month, who said Blinken's outreach just before the 2020 election inspired a letter signed by 51 former spy agency leaders, casting doubt on The Post's reporting on laptop records linking Joe Biden to ventures in China and Ukraine.

Additional records seized from the laptop reveal Hunter, now 53, kept his business associates updated on his interactions with Blinken and Ryan.

Hunter Biden's Laptop

Hunter Biden forwarded Blinken's reaction to his May 2015 message to Devon Archer, a business associate with whom the younger Biden had recently joined the board of Ukrainian gas giant Burisma - a post for which he earned up to $1 million per year despite having no relevant industry experience.

Emails from Hunter's abandoned laptop suggest that Blinken and his wife, Evan Ryan, had communicated with the first son for a long time. Hunter Biden forwarded communications regarding a meeting with Blinken to Burisma board members on many occasions, as per Daily Mail.

While Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma, the two met at the State Department in 2015. Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani cited the laptop, which had been placed in a Delaware repair shop, as evidence of alleged corruption among the Biden family.

The laptop contained explicit photos of the troubled Hunter Biden naked, with prostitutes, and using drugs, as well as a massive trove of emails and texts between the 53-year-old and his father, as well as the rest of the Biden family and business associates eager to meet his former VP and then-future president father.
