A cerebral palsy patient who accuses Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter of sexually assaulting her as a teenager has filed a legal case against the singer.

A new complaint against Nick Carter alleges that he sexually assaulted and physically hurt a 17-year-old woman aboard a Backstreet Boys tour bus in 2001.

Shannon "Shay" Ruth and three other women who have only been identified as Jane Does accused Nick Carter of raping them in a civil action that was filed on Thursday in Clark County, Nevada.

Ruth is seeking monetary damages, both punitive and to pay for any subsequent medical costs brought on by the alleged rape, according to USA Today.

Ruth, now 39, sobbed during a press conference on Thursday, "The previous 21 years have been filled with agony, confusion, anger, embarrassment, and self-harm that are a direct result of Nick Carter raping me."

Michael Holtz, Carter's lawyer, refuted the accusations in a statement. Ruth allegedly went to a Backstreet Boys performance in Tacoma, Washington, in February 2001, according to attorney Mark Boskovich. After the performance, she ran across Carter in an autograph queue, and the singer welcomed her on the tour bus.

Boskovich said that Carter offered Ruth a strange-tasting drink he referred to as "VIP juice," adding that Ruth drank it before Carter brought her to the restroom and made her perform oral sex while sobbing.

The lawyer said that afterwards, despite Ruth's cries for him to stop, Carter brought her to a bed in the back of the bus and sexually assaulted her there.

Ruth stated she would tell everyone what happened, but Carter reportedly grabbed and injured her arm, called her a slur and warned no one would believe her, Boskovich said. Carter allegedly infected Ruth and the other three women with HPV, according to the lawsuit.

Nik Carter Makes Public Appearance Amid Lawsuit

Meanwhile, Nick Carter made his stage debut on Friday after Shannon Ruth, a woman, came out on Thursday to accuse the singer of sexually abusing her back in 2001 when she was 17 and he was 21. Per Daily Mail, the 42-year-old artist joined the other Backstreet Boys members on the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball stage as they prepared to perform at Madison Square Garden.

The group's joint performance also occurred after ABC cancelled their forthcoming Christmas special, 'A Very Backstreet Holiday', on December 14 due to Nick Carter's alleged rape, which his lawyer has strenuously rejected.

Along with Kevin Richardson, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough from the Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter was spotted conducting an interview on the red carpet. The trio participated in the 2022 holiday season Jingle Ball concert tour, which is hosted by iHeartRadio.

Nick Carter was recently accused of rape, but the singer maintained his composure and joined his bandmates on stage before the group's performance. Additionally, on Friday, Carter posted a picture of himself with his family standing by his side to Instagram.

He may be seen in the photo with his wife of eight years, Lauren Kitt, and his three children, Odin, Saoirse, and Pearl. The Backstreet Boys were seen leaving their Hard Rock Hotel in the center of New York City before they arrived at Madison Square Garden. As he moved past the swarm of people blocking the walkway, Nick Carter smiled for the cameras. The artist opted for a laid-back look, donning a black T-shirt and a pair of faded torn pants.

Despite rumors that ABC had canceled their Christmas special as a result of Nick Carter's lawsuit, Nick, Aj Mclean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson appeared to be in good spirits, Mirror reported.
