Before the start of the season, Kevin Durant demanded that Steve Nash be fired from the Nets, which eventually happened.

The Brooklyn Nets fired Steve Nash following a 2-5 start. On his final night of action, the Nets defeated the Indiana Pacers.

In a little over two seasons, the Nets had a 94-67 record under Nash's leadership. When Nash was in command of the Nets, they advanced past the first round of the playoffs just once (2021) before succumbing to the eventual champion Milwaukee Bucks, according to SB Nation.

Kevin Durant's Reaction

The following season, the 2021-2022 NBA season, the Nets were predicted to win the title. However, they were swept out of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics in the first round. When word spread that Nash was fired from the Brooklyn Nets, he released the following statement on social media:

In a media conference, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told journalists that Nash is still a "brilliant" coach, as per SB Nation's Golden State of Mind.

"I think he has all the qualities to be a brilliant coach. Brilliant," said Kerr. He then underscored the importance of "situation" for an NBA head coach. Steve Kerr said that the situation reminded him that "we are all at the mercy of players, front offices, and ownership. In this league, you need a stable situation."

CBS Sports reported that Kevin Durant was "shocked" to know of Steve Nash's firing after waking up from a pregame nap. Durant stated he was surprised by the move after the Nets' 2-6 defeat to the Bulls on Tuesday,"But it's normal in the NBA. So it's about getting ready for the game tonight." He noted that he "can't think too much about it."

In August, HNGN reported that Kevin Durant demanded that the Brooklyn Nets fire Steve Nash as part of a trade package for him this past summer. Despite Durant's desire for Nash's release this summer, he made it to this season. The Nets have struggled once again, both on and off the court.

After losing to Chicago on Tuesday and falling to 2-6, the Nets made the decision to dismiss the Hall of Fame point guard Steve Nash. Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks addresses the press following the firing of Steve Nash as head coach.

"It was certainly trending that way and to be quite frank the team was not doing what it was supposed to be doing," Marks said, adding that the team remains optimistic about their journey in this current NBA season.

Moreover, Marks claimed that players were not informed, but Durant argued that it was unnecessary because it was obvious the Nets were in trouble.

"Let's be real. "We're pros, we're veterans. "We had a tough start. It was a rocky year last year, rocky summer. We knew that everybody was being evaluated. That's just how it is in the league," Kevin Durant remarked, as reported by the NBA.

Brooklyn Nets In Talks with Suspended Boston Celtics Coach Ime Udoka

An informed source claims that the Nets have been in contact with suspended Boston coach Ime Udoka, a former Brooklyn assistant who is not with the Celtics this season after being dismissed for violating team rules by having an improper intimate relationship with a female colleague. Due to the sensitive nature of the discussions, the source spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

ESPN was the first to break the news that Udoka and the Brooklyn Nets were in contact with each other. The Nets have promised to determine their next head coach soon.
