One 3-year-old girl slept through the entire massacre of 24 children at a daycare in Thailand, carried out by a ruthless gunman.

A three-year-old girl who survived last week's carnage at a daycare in northeast Thailand dozed out in a corner of a classroom as it was happening under a blanket.

Normally a light sleeper, Paveenut Supolwong, also known as 'Ammy,' was sound asleep with a blanket over her face during Thursday's naptime when the murderer broke into the nursery and started killing other kids, according to her parents.

Girl Remained Unharmed During Shooting in Thailand Day Care Center

In the wake of former police officer Panya Khamrap's rampage through the town of Uthai Sawan, which resulted in the deaths of over 30 people, largely nursery-aged children, Ammy was the only child in the nursery to uninjured to tell the tale, as per Reuters.

After Kamrap attacked on Thursday and killed 36 people, including 24 preschoolers who were taking a nap, Ammy managed to escape unharmed. When the assailant broke into the facility, the 3-year-old girl was sound asleep facing a wall and was not awakened.

According to her mother Anonpai Srithong, Kamrap, 34, thought she was already dead, which is how she survived. To prevent the three-year-old from seeing the horrific scene of murder, rescue personnel took her out of the center, News reported.

"There were about 12 kids and one pregnant teacher, all of them are dead," Ammy's mother claimed. "The person who checked my daughter didn't notice any bloodstains, so they moved on to the bodies of the other dead children. Only my child survived."

To protect Ammy from the incident, her face was covered with a blanket as she was picked up and transported upstairs. She was sleeping next to her best friend when the catastrophe occurred. Srithong talked about how happy she was to find that her daughter was still alive.

Before her mother, who lives 260 kilometers to the south and works in Bangkok, could believe she was still alive, she had to watch her on video. The couple left their three-year-old in the care of her grandmother when they relocated to the Thai capital for business, but after the incident, they made a terrifying trip back to the town.

According to Mrs. Srithong, her relative died in the carnage as well. It's still unclear how Ammy managed to survive when all of her classmates perished. She was reportedly covered by a blanket when the attacker, 34-year-old ex-cop Panya Kamrap, entered her classroom, according to earlier accounts.

Before taking his own life, the suspect allegedly killed his wife and son as well. According to Ammy's relatives, she was too little to comprehend the tragedy that was happening all around her, as per Metro.

Another Miracle Survivor of Thailand Daycare Massacre

In addition to the girl who survived the horrible event, another youngster named Sumaee was stabbed and shot twice but lived after having two bullets extracted from his skull by expert neurosurgeons.

The mother of Sumaee, hearing the terrible news, went to the school. She recounts seeing bodies and blood all around in graphic detail. She claims, "I passed out." Then, though, her husband saw Sumaee being loaded onto an ambulance by a rescue crew.

Sumaee's mother claimed that she made an effort to devote all of her attention to comforting him. In addition, mourners have swarmed to Paweenuch, tying dozens of white, yellow, and red soul threads around her wrists in the hope that they will somehow protect her spirit from the horror, according to The Star.
