Notable personalities congratulate Judge's powerful performance, which will go down as one of the best of all time in the league.

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge hit his 62nd home run of the year on Tuesday, breaking Roger Maris' mark from 1961.

At Globe Life Field in Arlington, Judge put the Yankees on the board first by crushing a pitch from Texas Rangers starter Jesus Tinoco over the left field wall.

Baseball Fans Congratulate Judge For Career Milestone

Judge smashed a 1-1 slider off Rangers right-hander Jesus Tinoco to start the second game of a split doubleheader. The Yankees lost 3-2 and have a 99-62 record.

The Yankees' manager, Aaron Boone, called it "just an all-time great season." He called Judge the team's leader, and his powerful hits helped the squad win the division. Boone believes this season will go down in history as one of the best of all time, as per a report from Inquirer.

After traveling 391 feet (119 meters), the ball was caught neatly by an enthusiastic spectator. This piece of sports history is sure to be in high demand in the collector's market. When failing to do so in the previous five games, including one played earlier on Tuesday, the 30-year-teammates old's embraced him one by one after he crossed the plate to eventually break the tie with Maris.

Barry Bonds, playing for the National League's San Francisco Giants in 2001, holds the MLB record with 73 home runs. Many of Major League Baseball's all-time best hitters, Bonds included, have been tarnished by doping allegations leveled during the era known as the "Steroid Era."

Celebrities, baseball legends like Derek Jeter and even US President Joe Biden sent their congratulations when the news spread throughout the country, MLB reported.

Recognition from Judge's peers felt very meaningful for the baseball star, which tops his "book" of accomplishments.

"That's what it's always been about for me; my teammates and my peers," he said.

Judge Not Included In Starting Line Up Against Rangers

A day after hitting his 62nd home run to break Roger Maris' 61-year-old American League single-season record, Aaron Judge wasn't named to the starting squad for the Yankees' last regular-season game against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.

Judge extended his hitting streak to 55 games with a home run in the opening inning of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rangers. Altogether, he has appeared in 157 contests for the AL East champs, per ESPN.

The Yankees won't start postseason play until the AL Division Series gets underway next Tuesday because they have a first-round bye in the playoffs. Manager Aaron Boone stated after Tuesday's game that Judge and he would discuss the best course of action after Judge expressed he wanted to play on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, before the game, Boone remarked they will have a brief talk, adding that he was determined on possibly handing him the day. When asked if Judge may come in for a pinch-hit, Boone replied, "I hope not."

Judge finished second in the American League in batting average to Minnesota's Luis Arraez (.315 to.311) heading into the last day of the regular season. Judge's 62 home runs and 131 RBIs put him far ahead of the pack and put him in contention for the Triple Crown.
