Wrestling legend Ric Flair will battle two prominent names in the sports-entertainment industry in his upcoming retirement match at Starrcast V in Nashville, Tennessee.

The announcement came less than two weeks before the 16-time World Champion comes out of retirement for one last match at 73 years old, with some health issues.

Ric Flair's final opponents have been revealed recently after numerous speculations and tease had potential opponents ranging from the Rock 'n' Roll Express to Ricky Steamboat to Jay Lethal to Chris Jericho to someone from WWE Monday Night Raw.

Flair will team up with his son-in-law, Andrade, to take on Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in a tag team battle, as per a report from Cage Side Seats.

Former Champs Will Face Flair

Flair and Jarrett have a long history dating back to their WWF and WCW days. When Flair joined TNA in 2008 after losing his match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV, the rivalry was brought to a new level in that company.

As for Flair and Lethal, not only has Lethal been training Flair for his in-ring return, but the two have a history in TNA. That includes when Lethal delivered one of his most memorable promos featuring their battle of "Wooo," Flair tried to give away Hulk Hogan's Hall of Fame ring, and the blow-off match between Flair and Lethal at Victory Road 10, per Wrestling Inc.

The relationship between Flair and Andrade El Idolo is very fresh, as Flair's daughter and former Women's Champion Charlotte Flair started dating Andrade in February 2019, when he was wrestling in the WWE. Since then, the couple got married, and Andrade is now a wrestler for AEW and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.

The Wrestling Legend Is Ready To Return to the Ring

The announcement video, uploaded on YouTube, showed Lethal attacking Flair in a parking lot. Then Jarrett and his wife, Karen, intervene to save him. After Jarrett receives a reprimand from Flair, the two turn on him and help with the beating and busting of his forehead; then, it is established that Flair joined forces with his son-in-law to exact justice.

Flair was interviewed by ComicBook recently about the event, saying that his match will only be a satisfying finale if it's better than his original retirement match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV. He would continue to wrestle 16 times after that initial 2008 retirement, with the last match being in September 2011 in Impact Wrestling (TNA) against Sting.

Flair said in the interview: "It has to be really good, it has to be better than anything I did after Shawn Michaels. It's not about the money. It's all about re-establishing the fact I have my self-confidence. It's never been higher."

A founding member of the iconic stables Four Horsemen and Evolution, Ric Flair admitted that during that time, he was "still having self-confidence issues," and he was paying out his divorces more.

However, those struggles gave him a goal. Flair noted: "I've been working out. Kelly (Brewster) and I worked together, as partners in this but she also trains with me and it's a lot of hard work. We drive 45 miles up to John Cena's place in the morning for an hour and a half. And then we go down to Saint Peak to training like there's no tomorrow for two hours and it's a lot more fun for me if I have someone to compete against."

Now, Ric Flair, the "Stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun," believes he is ready to get back in the ring to thrill wrestling fans one last time.

The Flair & Andrade vs. Jarrett & Lethal and the rest of Ric Flair's Final Match event will be broadcast live on Fite TV over Summerslam Weekend.
