No. 17 Iowa looks for redemption on Saturday after their Jan. 22 loss to Iowa earlier this year. Since then, the Hawkeyes (17-6) have won two of their last four games. Beyond evening the score against Iowa, a win on Saturday would save Iowa from losing two straight games.
"This will be a big test, we're playing the first-place team in the league, but we haven't lost two games in a row all year," Iowa coach Fran McCaffery told the team website on Friday. "We've responded every time we've been beaten. I like our professionalism in terms of our approach to losses in how we respond in practice and film sessions.
"Everybody stays positive, so we'll see."
Senior guard Roy Devyn Marble has a team-high 16.0 points per game while junior forward Aaron White leads the team in rebounding with 6.5 boards per game.
Michigan (17-5), meanwhile, is ranked No. 10 in the nation and coming off a 79-50 rout on Wednesday of Nebraska. Sophomore guard Nik Stauskas leads the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game, and sophomore forward Mitch McGary has a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game.
McCaffery credits the Wolverines' success to their team-first attitude.
"When you take a team's leading scorer and he has put winning above everything else, that says a lot about him and (head coach) John (Beilein) and the culture they have," said McCaffery. "They have a very unselfish team and any game, you can pick 7-or-8 guys that can be their leading scorer."
