It's been confirmed by ABC Family that Tyler Blackburn is the first cast member for "Ravenswood", the "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff series. Blackburn plays Hanna's (Ashley Benson) boyfriend, Caleb Rivers on the hit ABC Family show.
The spinoff will debut Halloween night, after the "Pretty Little Liars" episode where the town of Ravenswood will be introduced. Blackburn's character will leave Rosewood, Penn. for Ravenswood, a town not too far away. It has not been revealed how or why Blackburn's character will leave for Ravenswood and what will happen between Hanna and Caleb.
The spinoff will center on a town which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers find themselves connected by the fatal curse and have to dig into the town's history before it's too late.
ABC Family president Michael Riley told the Hollywood Reporter that "'Pretty Little Liars' is brand-defining and demo-defining for ABC Family. We are proud to be able to grow the PLL franchise in two ways -- both by adding additional seasons of the original and by extending the storytelling into a spinoff. 'Ravenswood' will become another 'must-tweet TV' series for us."
"Pretty Little Liars" is a hit teen-drama mystery thriller on ABC Family based loosely off the novels by Sara Shepard. The four best friends find their clique falling apart after the disappearance of their queen bee Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse).
Season four of "Pretty Little Liars" premieres June 11 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC Family. A fifth season is in the works.
