Man Bites Off Brother's Ear While Play Fighting At Super Bowl Party

A man form Rochester, New York was arrested for allegedly biting off his brother's ear at the end of a Super Bowl party Sunday night, the Democrat & Chronicle reported Monday.

Sean Fallon-Nebbia, 27, pleaded not guilty in City Court to felony charges of first-degree assault. Fallon-Nebbia is accused of biting off part of his younger brother's right ear after the two got into a fight at the older brother's apartment.

Fallon-Nebbia also allegedly repeatedly punched his 26-year-old brother, Frank Fallon-Nebbia, in the face. The younger brother was left unconscious, suffered severe bleeding and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, the Democrat & Chronicle reported.

The doctor who examined Frank's ear told police it was disfigured beyond repair. Judge Melchor Casto arranged an order of protection for the younger brother, the Democrat & Chronicle reported.

According to court documents, the two brothers were heavily drunk from consuming more than a bottle of whisky during the Super Bowl party. The brothers began play-fighting after the game that ended with the Seattle Seahawks defeating the Denver Broncos 43-8.

One witness who lives in the apartment told police the brothers were pretending to wrestle and clung to each other before the fight "turned violent and aggressive," the Democrat & Chronicle reported.

Sean was remanded and is currently held at the Monroe County Jail on $15,000 cash bail. The older brother is expected to appear in City Court on Friday morning, the Democrat & Chronicle reported.

There have been several previous cases of injuries, even fatalities, stemming from sports related brawls.

A 28-year-old woman from Alabama was charged with shooting and killing another woman at a party for the Iron Bowl in late 2013. The woman, Adrian Laroze Briskey, shot 36-year-old Michelle Shepherd because she allegedly did not care about Crimson Tide losing to its rival the Auburn Tigers.
