Recent transfer Juan Mata is expected to make his debut for Manchester United on Tuesday. The midfielder hopes he can help the No. 7-ranked club improve upon their 11-4-7 record and ascend the Premier League standings.
"I would like to win the Premier League here, it's a very special trophy for every player who plays in this country and it would be amazing, and I think at this club you can achieve it because this club is used to winning leagues and I will try my best," Mata said, via NBC Sports. "Obviously I'm still young and I've been lucky to win some trophies but I want to win lots more."
United hopes the acquisition of Mata will give them a boost after losing three of their last four competitions.
Cardiff, meanwhile, at the bottom of the Premier League standings with a 4-6-12 record. The club is coming off a 1-0 win on Saturday over Bolton in the FA Cup fourth round, and Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to make it two straight wins on Tuesday when he visits his former club.
While Solskjaer's only concern is walking out of Old Trafford with three points, he did admit returning to the stadium may stir some emotions in him.
"I have always had a great relationship with Manchester United's fans," said Solskjaer. "Back in Norway, when we've been watching United games over the years, I've nudged the kids and said: 'They are still singing about your dad.' I am not that emotional a man so it is hard to say how I will feel. You never know. Sometimes, it just catches you, doesn't it? Like when you do your wedding speech."
