Grammy 2014 Red Carpet: Best And Worst Dressed

The Grammys Awards 2014 was held at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles and featured performances by Taylor Swift, Beyonce and husband Jay Z, Daft Punk, Katy Perry and Madonna. The Red Carpet was as glamorous as always with most celebrities looking their fashionable best. So who left us spell bound and which stars failed to impress? Check them out below.

Best Dressed

You can rely on Paris Hilton to turn heads and that's exactly what she did at the Grammys this year. The socialite chose to wear a white House of Milani embellished gown with nude mesh stripes down the side and at the back. The gown showed off her figure to perfection. Her nude makeup and messy hairdo also complemented her attire well.

As beautiful as her voice is, Taylor Swift looked just as divine in her sequenced golden Gucci gown. It was elegant without being "old lady." Her smoky eye makeup and pink lips gave the entire ensemble a very elegant look. She didn't go too heavy on the accessories, which probably worked to her advantage.

Kacey Musgraves looked nothing short of a fairy princess in her Armani Prive gown. Agreed the dress had a lot of frills but Musgraves managed to carry it off gorgeously. Her messy low-knot hairdo was exactly what was required to keep the extravagant dress from looking too outrageous. Her subtle makeup was the icing on the cake.

Worst Dressed

What was Beyonce thinking? There's just no excuse for being among the worst dressed ladies of the night when you're considered a fashion icon. Beyonce's white gown left little to the imagination though the embroidery on the gown managed to do a decent job of covering up the right parts. Even then the look was completely wrong. Her hair looked messy and the red lipstick seemed a bit too loud.

OK! You want to dress like Charlie Chaplin, do it at a more low-key event and not the Grammys for God's sake. This is probably what every fashion critic would have wanted to scream out to Madonna. Agreed that she is one singer that can carry off just about everything she wears and there's no doubt she looked "alright" in her Charlie Chaplin outfit but the occasion just didn't seem right - her face looked gorgeous though!

Now we don't expect Cyndi Lauper to do a Paris Hilton but she sure can do better than the black cape-like outfit she wore to the Grammys this year. The red hair, red lipstick and loud neck piece looked out of place and a bit too circus-ish. How we wish she could dress as brilliantly as she sings!
