An explosion at a food plant in Omaha, Nebraska injured at least seven people and caused some workers to be trapped inside on Monday, Fox News reported.
Though only one worker is reportedly stuck inside, a dozen people were originally trapped in the International Nutrition building after it collapsed around 10:00 a.m., according to a report on KPTM.com.
At least seven people have been transported to nearby hospitals and several plant employees are being treated for severe burns. Police and fire officials have not released further details on the victims.
The Omaha Police called the incident an "industrial accident" on their Twitter account, asking people to "stay clear of the area." They continued to upload pictures of the scene and said their thoughts and prayers were with the victims and their families.
The Lincoln Journal Star reported that 38 people were working at the plant at the time of the blast. They also said officials are currently blocking access to the facility.
KETV-TV spoke with a woman, Kari Cook, who received a text message from her 53-year-old boyfriend, John Broderick, who works at the plant.
"Major accident at work I'm hurt and trapped love you," Broderick texted Cook.
Cook said her boyfriend has been working at the plant for the past eight years.
According to the Los Angeles Times, International Nutrition is an Omaha-based company that makes animal nutritional supplements and products for feed manufacturers, animal health distributors, and large livestock producers.
