BlackBerry has revealed that company will be launching its last smartphone with its iconic keyboard. The iconic smartphone maker said that it was quitting the mobile device business back in September but it's looking like they are all set for one final hurrah in the smartphone market.

Back in August, Blackberry claimed that the DTEK50 will be its last official device. But, in October, DTEK60 was released. Now John Chen, the Canadian company's CEO has confirmed in an interview that BlackBerry does still have plans for one last smartphone release.

"We have one keyboard phone that I promised people," John Chen, Blackberry CEO, told in an interview with the Bloomberg. "It's coming."

Although, Chen did not provide any information about the upcoming device, the Blackberry Priv was the latest handset to sport a physical keyboard and now the new phone could possibly emerge as a next-generation variant. This might even be the rumored Blackberry Mercury.

It's speculated to get the internal codename Mercury. The upcoming phone is said to come in a 4.5-inch Full HD touchscreen with a 3:2 of aspect ratio. It will be having a 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Last phone by Blackberry will be having an 18 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front snapper with a 3,400 mAh battery. The upcoming device is rumored to be launching in the 2017, so it might be packed with the latest Android OS version i.e. Android 7.0 Nougat.

According to TechTimes, it is also not yet known that whether the new Blackberry smartphone will be manufactured by another company or Blackberry itself as both DTEK50 and DTEK60 were built by TCL and are similar to the handsets that are labeled as Alcatel Idol.

Blackberry is known for being straightforward and reliable in terms of updates so, fans should expect more information once the device gets ready for to rock the smartphone market.
