Brad Pitt has got a clean chit from the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services in the child abuse case. Now it remains to be seen if the clearance would have any impact on the custody battle of his six children.

The DCFS has found that Pitt did not abuse his child while flying from France to the U.S., reports USA Today. A source who is familiar with the reports disclosed the decision of the investigators to the publication. DCFS did not make any comments as the law bars it from speaking on investigations.

Anyway, this clean chit is a major victory for Pitt who filed for the joint physical and legal custody of the children. Though the couple recently reached a supposed agreement wherein Pitt had to be content with visitation rights, it looks like this fresh development would encourage Pitt to file a fresh case.

He might challenge Jolie's claim and go back to his earlier position. He is known to be very close to his kids and Pax and Shiloh are said to be yearning for their dad's company. A while back it was reported that they had requested their mother to let them go and live with their father.

As for the DCFS investigation, it was initiated when an anonymous caller informed the DCFS about the alleged fight between the actor and his son in September, reports The Huffington Post. The probe began and in October it was extended to include other children. However, now that nothing has been found against Pitt, it seems Jolie's case will receive a major jolt.

Right from the time she filed for divorce, the children have been living with her in a rented Malibu home. Pitt has only seen them during monitored meetings.

The actress is known to be against the idea of joint custody from the outset and a while back it did seem like she would win the case but this new development has turned the tables on her. Moreover, she is also under the scanner for her abusive and aggressive behavior.

It is worth mentioning here that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation.
