2014 People's Choice Awards Red Carpet: What The Ladies Wore (SLIDESHOW)

While leading men of Hollywood tend to play it safe with the classic tuxedo, it is always interesting to see what the leading ladies churn out from their wardrobe and wear to award functions and grand occasions.

The 2014 People's Choice Awards provided one such opportunity where every female celebrity turned up in her fashionable best to grab the attention of photographers, viewers, fans and of course her colleagues. While some stood out, others failed to impress.

Jessica Alba and Jennifer Hudson, the ladies in white were definitely the best dressed ladies of the evening. Alba opted for an understated white strapless Jason Wu dress while Hudson took the simpler route and settled for a curve-hugging, white hot number that showed off her figure.

Nina Dobrev was also pretty impressive with her black and silver sequenced, knee-length dress. She didn't go too heavy on the makeup or accessories that complimented the dress to perfection. Her hair done up in a high, messy bun also added the much need "oomph" factor to her overall appearance.

Sandra Bullock, who was one of the winners of the evening, seemed a little "dressed down" for the occasion but then again while the event may be one of the firsts for the year, it's definitely not one where stars ring up top designers. Her green and blue bold print dress didn't manage to grab a lot of attention but the bright side was she wasn't the worst-dressed at the event.

Naya Rivera in a horizontal striped dress and Cassie Scerbo in a white thigh-length suit competed for the worst dressed tag, according to Stylelist.com.
