Sony has been shocking the tech community left and right with its many announcements at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The biggest of these announcements has to be the unveiling of the PlayStation Now, a new service that will play older-generation games on PS4, PS Vita, televisions, tablets and smartphones. The service is not due out until later in 2014, but you can sign up to be a part of the beta testing.
According to IGN, a closed beta for the service will open up later in January and you can sign up for more "exclusive" information about the beta, likely resulting in some invitations that will be sent out to a few lucky PlayStation fans. Here's how.
First you should go to the PlayStation website and punch in your first and last name as well as a valid e-mail address. It will then ask for your zip code and, most importantly, your PSN ID.
The website states that you will be kept "up with the latest news and updates on the evolution of PlayStation Now in the future" and tells you that you can "[r]egister... to be the first to receive exclusive information on PlayStation Now." It doesn't implicitly state that you will receive a beta invitation, but this is usually how companies and beta tests like this usually begin, according to IGN.
At the very least, it can't hurt your chances to get yourself involved in the beta to sign up at the web address HERE. Just maybe, you'll find yourself invited to test out Sony's new PlayStation Now and stream some older-generation games onto your newer Sony gadgets.
