Nowadays, even if the internet is so much used by the people around the world, many kids will still prefer to watch shows on different television channels.

Recently,  "Peppa Pig" is hitting the ratings coming from the young viewers. "Peppa Pig" is a story about two siblings who loves to laugh and just be happy amidst any mistake that they can make.

On the other hand, in a report by Inquisitr, there are claims that watching "Peppa Pig" can cause children to have autism. These said claims were based on research from Marc Wildenberg in 2012. He is an epidemiologist at Harvard University.

Wildenberg claims that children who watch "Peppa Pig" for at least 30 minutes can have 56 percent increased possibilities of having autism. Through this claim from his so-called research, there are also criticisms from other experts.

In an interview with Courier Mail via Daily Mail, Dr. Karen Philip said that "Peppa Pig" is a cartoon that prevents kids from "developing skills in empathy and reading other people's body language."

She also mentioned that children aged 4 to 5 get who are heavily watching this might fail to develop full brain functions.

Meanwhile, according to a report from Parent Herald, there are possibilities that the research could be valid. But some media outfit say that the research has no concrete evidence. Others also say that the study possibly was done just to discredit "Peppa Pig."

But still, it was reported that "Peppa Pig" can highly influence children's behavior as they would re-enact her bratty actions.

Parents complain that their children copy Peppa's annoying behavior - behaving like a brat, burping and blowing raspberries all the time, and saying 'I don't want to play with you anymore' to their friends (just like Peppa does). That and they start jumping in muddy puddles all the time!"
