Rapper Young Jeezy was arrested in Atlanta on Friday, Jan. 3 for allegedly threatening and beating his son. According to TMZ, Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) was arrested on charges of false imprisonment, battery and making terroristic threats against his son.
The 36-year-old "Sole Survivor" rapper has two children - Jadarius Jenkins and Shyheim Jenkins. As of now it's not clear which son was involved in the incident. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Jeezy and his son got into a physical altercation with his son in a bathroom and threw him through a glass shower door causing the boy to hit his head.
He then allegedly dragged his son into the bedroom, threw him on the bed and continued to beat him. The son says he tried to escape but the rapper's bodyguard blocked the stairwell so he couldn't escape. The son also claims that Jeezy threatened to kill him saying "I will put a bullet in your head right now" and "If I could get away with it, I'll kill you."
Law enforcement officials told TMZ that the rapper turned himself in after a grand jury warrant for each charge was issued. He has since been released on a $45,000 bond.
"We have no doubt this matter will resolve itself appropriately," the Jeezy's attorney said. "At this moment, Mr. Jenkins is thankful for the support of his fans and the respect for his family's privacy."
In July of 2012, Jeezy threw a star-studded 16th birthday party for his son Jadarius at a Buckhead mansion. The pool party had promo models and a gamers bus with a giant flat screen so his friends could play video games. Soulja Boy and his SODMG crew also provided live entertainment for the guests.
