Blake Shelton Shuns Divorce Rumors Through Twitter

Blake Shelton took to his twitter account to slam rumors about him and wife Miranda Lambert getting a divorce.

Linkups and breakups are all part of the big glamour game. How much of these reports are true and how many just rumors - only time tells. Nonetheless, celebrities constantly have to bear the brunt of these rumors and the latest victim of a breakup rumor was American country singer Blake Shelton.

Last week National Enquirer reported that the singer and his wife Miranda Lambert were heading for a "$100 million divorce." The report suggested that Shelton was increasingly turning to alcohol and Lambert was refusing to have a baby. Shelton took to his Twitter account to laugh off the gossip calling it a "hilarious gag."

"Wow!! @mirandalambert and I are so excited about our 100 million dollars!!! Who knew you could make so much money just by divorcing?!!" he tweeted.

Shelton met country singer Lambert at the CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2005. Coming from the same music background, the two immediately hit it off. In fact, Lambert also sang background vocals for Shelton for his cover of Michael Bublé's song, "Home." After seeking the blessings of his father, Shelton proposed to Miranda and the two exchanged vows in 2011. The wedding was a grand affair with many celebrities showing up for the event.

"It's been a roller coaster," Lambert told W magazine last year while talking about their marriage. "He had to get a divorce. We were both trying to build our own careers. I moved from Texas to Oklahoma, which no one does. Before I moved, I called Blake and said, 'Look -- are you planning on screwing this up? Because I'm not going to move all my crap to a foreign state if you're going to screw this up.' "

This is Shelton's second marriage. He married his long-time girlfriend Kaynette Gern in 2003. The couple didn't have any children and after spending three years together, ended their marriage in 2006. Shelton has also been a judge on the NBC talent show "The Voice" since its inception in 2011. His team has won three of the five seasons aired so far. He has won many awards, beginning with the "Vocal Event of the Year " in the 2011. He's also been nominated for many Grammy Awards.
