British Man Undergoes Chemical Castration to Suppress His Criminal Fantasies

A British man narrates his story of voluntarily undergoing chemical castration to prevent himself from harming other women by raping and killing them, The New York Daily News reports.

A young British man identified himself as Steve (name changed) told viewers of ITV's "This Morning" about his decision to undergo chemical castration to suppress his fantasies of raping and killing women. Dr. Paul Federoof from Canada, sexual behavior expert who helped Steve with his condition, spoke with show hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield about the early symptoms, which concluded with a decision to castrate.

Steve voluntarily underwent the medical treatment to reduce his sexual desires. He shared his experiences before the treatment and how he was determined to commit a crime because of his strong sexual desires. Before it got worse, he consulted with Dr. Fedoroff for help.

When his sexual desires went out of control, he started to cheat on his girlfriend by hooking up with women through online forums.

"The sex became more boring over time so I started looking for more extreme methods. I enjoyed the challenge of meeting someone online and seeing how fast I could get them in to bed," he said.

Steve told viewers that his sex drive progressed to being more violent, that is when ideas of raping and killing the women he would sleep with started rising. He narrated an incident when he was almost driven to fulfill his fantasies.

"I went out that night to do it. I purchased specific tools and had them in the trunk of my car," he said. "I drove around and got an individual in to my car. It was easy, but I never harmed her."

Steve then learnt from his therapist that he did not harm the woman as they started to talk and he got to know her in the car. Steve is not driven to sexual assault toward the people he knows. He said he never harmed his girlfriend despite his condition.

Dr. Fedoroff suggested that he undergo castration and counseling. After the medical treatment, Steve observed a great change and he no longer had criminal thoughts. "The removal of my sex drive did occur quite rapidly and made me a lot more comfortable. I lost interest in acting out my thoughts, I had no sex for a year and a half," he told the viewers.

Castration is a medical treatment using hormones to reduce sex drive in men. This is widely practiced in Poland, Russia, and other states in the U.S. for child sex offenders, said the report.
