As reported by German news sit Bild, Angela Lansbury is joining "Game of Thrones" season7 and will feature in the upcoming show as a prominent character. She is rumored to play a small cameo and will only appear in two episodes in season 7. Rumor has it that she will be available on set for only four days.

It is important to note, however, that the news is only a rumor and HBO has not yet confirmed that Lansbury will join the show's cast. However, in a similar report by National Enquirer, it was noted by Lansbury's friend that "Angela loves living in New York, but she said she would be willing to travel for a special TV or a film role. So Game of Thrones is a perfect fit for her!" In the same article, it was also mentioned that Diana Rigg (Olenna Tyrell) endorsed Lansbury for a certain role telling the producers to get Angela on board.

Speculation has it that she will be playing the character of Maggy the Frog, the fortune-teller witch who first featured in season 5. She told a young Cersei Lannister in a flashback scene that she will become a queen and outlive her three children. At that time, Maggy's character was played by Jodhi May but now that several years have passed between then and now, Lansbury will be an appropriate fit for the witch's role. According to the fan theory, now that all her predictions have come true, Cersei may seek out the witch again for revenge or her advice.

Meanwhile, Lansbury is not the only actor who has been linked to "Game of Thrones" recently. According to another report by The Independent, Jim Broadbent of "Harry Potter" and "Moulin Rouge" fame is also reportedly joining the show.

The production for the upcoming season has already begun in Northern Ireland, other locations being Iceland and Spain. The filming of the show has been delayed so that the production team can benefit from the changing weather and show the arrival of winter as proclaimed by Sansa in season 6. Season 7 consist of a total of 7 episodes that will start airing in mid 2017.
