128 Pounds of Cocaine Seized at Port of Baltimore in Biggest Bust Since 2007

Customs and Border Protection officials at the Port of Baltimore in Maryland seized an enormous cargo of cocaine from Panama bound for the United States on Tuesday.

Agents discovered almost 128 pounds of cocaine in powder form, which would go for about $4 million at street price.

The drugs were concealed in two gym bags, encased within a car part shipment sent from Colon. The cocaine, sealed into packages of about 100 bricks, were found during daily rounds of inspections.

Using imaging technology, Customs and Border Protection officials grazed over boxes marked with the Nike swoosh insignia, according to agency spokesperson Steve Sapp.

"'Tis the season for giving, but sometimes it's better to just seize," Customs and Border Protection wrote in the statement released shortly after the discovery, according to the Washington Post.

Tuesday's find marks the largest drug bust at the Port of Baltimore in six years, the Post reported.

Officials found 310 pounds of cocaine in a refrigerated capsule from Ecuador in 2007.
