Fresno Police Suspect Four Teenagers Connected With Shooting of Edison High School Teacher

Fresno, Calif. police are looking for four teenage boys were reportedly connected to an attempted robbery at a local high school that left one teacher shot.

30-year-old athletic trainer Steven Guerrero, who works at Edison High School part time, was shot twice after the incident that took place in a school classroom on Thursday night.

According to the Associated Press, Guerrero didn't sustain any life-threatening injuries, and was reported in fine condition by Friday.

The four suspects allegedly approached Guerrero after entering an unlocked classroom, demanding the instructor hand over a laptop computer.

At first, the teacher gave up the computer with little fight. But he chose to strike back after one of the teens hit him with a 25-pound free weight.

Deputy Police Chief Pat Farmer said that Guerrero managed to wrangle a gun out of one of his attacker's clutches, but the suspect got to it first, then shot the teacher.

According to Farmer, police suspect the four weren't Edison students.
