George Zimmerman eBay Artwork Sold for $100,099.99, Winner Beat Out 95 Other Bids

George Zimmerman's artwork sold on eBay for a whopping $100,099.99, Saturday.

The winning bidder beat out 95 other hopefuls since the item was first posted online on Monday, the Associated Press reported.

The painting, which depicts the United States flag in various shades of blue with the words "God, One Nation, with Liberty and Justice for All," was confirmed as a George Zimmerman original by his attorney, Jayne Weintraub.

Weintraub told AP that Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder charges after fatally shooting unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, has "unfairly...not been gainfully employed of late and he's utilizing his talent to make some money."

In the painting's description on its eBay page, Zimmerman wrote that his art helped him cope with his emotions.

"My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors," the 30-year-old Sanford, Fla. resident wrote.

Just hours after Zimmerman first put up the painting for 99 cents under the username "therealgeorgez," the price shot up to $99,966.
