George Zimmerman has created an original work of art, and it's selling on eBay for almost $100,000, just one day after it was posted online.
Zimmerman initially posted the painting for 99 cents under the username "therealgeorgez". A few hours later, the price shot up to $99,966. By Tuesday morning, there were 98 bids placed on the piece, CBS News reported.
The piece, a painting on canvas of the United States flag in blue with, "God, One Nation, with Liberty and Justice for All," written in white, is signed with Zimmerman's name in the left-hand corner.
The painting is described as "First hand painted artwork by me, George Zimmerman."
"Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself. I found a creative way to express myself, my emotions and the symbols that represent my experiences. My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors," the description reads, along with a sly smiley face. "I hope you enjoy owning this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it. your friend, George Zimmerman."
EBay users have taken to the comments section to both ask about the piece's details and state their support for Zimmerman.
Two potential buyers asked how big the painting was, to which he responded that it measured 18" x 24".
"Just wanted to tell you we all love you and stand behind you," another user posted. "You have so many people on your side, I hope you know that!."
"Thank you so much for the words of kindness and support," Zimmerman replied. "I do know how many great Americans are still here, I run into at least 3-5 a day that go out of their way to tell me the same."
The painting will remain online until the bidding ends on Dec. 21.
According to News 13, Zimmerman's brother Robert Zimmerman, Jr. confirmed that the painting was, in fact, done by George.
Zimmerman was acquitted of murder charges in 2012 for killing unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, who was walking in the neighborhood where Zimmerman volunteered as a neighborhood watchman. He has encountered multiple brushes with the law since then, including various domestic disputes with his ex-wife and current girlfriend. Most recently, he was arrested after reportedly putting a long-barreled shotgun in the face of girlfriend Samantha Scheibe, but she later reneged the claims and the charges against him were dropped.
