Trinity School, the Manhattan school a gym teacher alleges he was fired because he's straight, say the former teacher's accusations are false.
Gregory Kenny, 50, filed a lawsuit against the prestigious school, claiming his lesbian boss, athletic director Pat Krieger, fired him because he's heterosexual and values his family more than his job. Kenney claims he is a victim of reverse discrimination.
The school, however, issued a letter to alumni Thursday calling Kenney out on his actions, the New York Daily News reported.
"While we cannot comment on the particulars of pending litigation we can say, without reservation, that all of the allegations are utterly false and entirely baseless," said John Allman, head of Trinity School, according to the Daily News.
Allman said Krieger has the school's full support, and that the school would never carry out such a discriminatory act.
"We are deeply dismayed that our former employee has chosen this course of action and has made allegations that are so obviously counter to policy and practice at the Trinity School," Allman said in the letter, the Daily News reported.
Kenney, who has a wife and two kids, was let go from his position in June 2012.
When Krieger started working there in 2009, Kenney claims she made him coach more sports than his contract required, including "soccer, basketball and golf," the lawsuit said. Kenney said those sports made him work nights and weekends, taking time away from his family.
Kenney complained to Krieger, to which she replied she "did not care about his family obligations" and "we all make choices," the Daily News reported.
Kenny also claims Krieger took preference for teachers who were "single, younger females without children and discriminated against (him) because of his gender" the lawsuit said. Kenney's attorney, Steve Morelli, told the Daily News he will prove Kenney underwent the discrimination Krieger carried out against him.
