Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is Barbara Walters' "Most Fascinating Person of 2013" told Walters in an interview she does not know if she will run for the White House in the next election..
"Obviously I will look carefully at what I think I can do and make that decision sometime next year," Clinton said during her interview for "Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2013."
"It's such a difficult decision, and it's one that I'm not going to rush into...and I don't think we should be looking at the next election," Clinton told Walters, according to ABC News. "I think we should be looking at the work that we have today."
Clinton has given similar answers in the past when asked if she will run in the 2016 presidential elections, USA Today reported. The same question has been posed to the former first lady ever since she lost the 2008 presidential bid to President Barack Obama.
After being President Obama's Secretary of State, Clinton is no longer in public office, which she said was a "relief." Neither is her husband, Bill Clinton, serving in office, ABC News reported.
"I just knew that I wanted to get off this high wire that I had been on for so long," she told Walters. "To spend time just doing things that give us a lot of joy."
Clinton did, however, tell Walters she thought it was "important" for the U.S. to have a female president, citing other countries like Brazil and Chile who already have female top leaders, ABC News reported.
This is the last year Walters will air her "Most Fascinating Person" special. The first time the special aired in 1993, Walters picked Clinton, who was a first lady at the time, to top her list.
Clinton told Walters she isn't sure what her husband would be called if the tables were turned and she becomes President.
"I have no idea," she told Walters, according to ABC News. "First mate, I don't know."
