'Bride And Prejudice': One Groom-To-Be Asks Fiancée To Convert To Judaism [VIDEO]

An interfaith couple faces the tough decision about whether one should convert to the other's religion on the Tuesday episode of FYI's newest reality TV series "Bride and Prejudice." Eugene's Jewish faith is an important part of his and his family's lives, but in order to have a traditional Jewish wedding his fiancée Samantha must give up her Christian beliefs if she wants to make her in-laws happy.

In a sneak peek for tonight's episode, the couple enjoys a date night with son Nathan eating dinner, and Eugene catches his fiancée up on the time he spent with his mother the previous night, where he cooked a traditional borscht soup.

"It was good, I was just telling her how much I love you and how much I love us and she should respect the fact that you're an amazing mom and you're an amazing partner so, I really actually want to talk to you about something," Eugene says gently. "I've been thinking about it a lot, kinda talked to my mom yesterday about it when we were making the borscht. I really wanted to ask you if you'd be willing to convert to Judaism."

After a long pause from Samantha, Eugene tells his bride-to-be that it would mean a lot to him and his family if she would convert. Samantha says she understands how important it would be for him and his family, but she doesn't think it would improve her relationship with Eugene's mother, and he agrees.

"I just would love for you to consider it, and I know that it's not something that happens overnight," he says, holding a fussy little Nathan on his lap.

"I'm thinking about it," Samantha says. "I know it's important to you, and you are important to me. I just don't want to feel like you guys are pushing it on me."

"And I don't want them to push it on you, I don't want to push it on you," Eugene explains. "I want it to be real, I want it from the heart. It's really meaningful, everything that you've been doing, and I know you're having so many firsts, and I'm really really grateful to have somebody who's so understanding like you. So I just want you to know that."

"I feel that the religious issues make everything more complicated, just because there are certain things that Eugene and his family want that I'm not necessarily wanting or even know about," Samantha says in her on-camera interview. "So I'm honestly not sure if I want to do that. It's going to be totally my choice, regardless of what Eugene's family thinks, and right now I'm nervous to go forward with this wedding."
