The New England Patriots could use some help at wide receiver. Outside of Julian Edelman, Tom Brady doesn't have many targets that can consistently create separation at the position. Sure, tight end Rob Gronkowski more than makes up for a lot of these weaknesses. But after the release of Brandon LaFell, the Pats are relying on Danny Amendola and Aaron Dobson to pick up the slack. That just won't cut it.

That's why it's no surprise that New England is sniffing around Moahemd Sanu and other free agent wide receivers right now. Bill Belichick knows he needs to add some pass catchers to the roster, especially as Brady approaches his 39th birthday. Belichick also knows that if he can weaken a division rival in the process, than it's all for the better. Given that, it's understandable why the team is hosting Buffalo Bills restricted free agent receiver Chris Hogan for a visit today.

With Hogan just a restricted free agent this offseason, the Bills would have up to five days to match any offer sheet the Patriots sign him to. Buffalo tendered him at the most inexpensive level of $1.67 million, so if he did find himself on a new team than New England would not receive any compensation for the former undrafted free agent.

Hogan, 27, has caught 77 passes over the last two seasons in Buffalo. As a quick slot receiver he caught 36 balls for 450 yards and two touchdowns last season. His style of play would fit into New England's offense. But the Bills may not let him leave town for Foxborough.
