Actress and singer Zendaya has bagged a role in Marvel and Sony's "Spider-Man" reboot!

Zendaya will star alongside Tom Holland, who has been tapped to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the upcoming untitled project, and Marisa Tomei, who will play Aunt May in the film.

Details of Zendaya's role have not been revealed but it is reported that she will play the role of a character named Michelle in the film. It is less likely that the new character has been added as Parker's love interest if the comics are anything to go by since Parker romances Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy in the books.

However, there is a possibility that Zendaya's Michelle is actually the character Michele Gonzales, who is the younger sister of Parker's roommate, Vin Gonzales.

In the comic books, The Chameleon takes on Parker's appearance and sleeps with an unaware Michele Gonzales, leading her to believe that she and Parker are boyfriend and girlfriend, until he tells her that it was The Chameleon that slept with her and not him, but she refuses to accept it.

Jon Watts, whose credits include "Cop Car," will direct the superhero flick based on a script penned by John Franchis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal will serve as producers on the project, which centers on the life of a teenage Peter Parker.

Zendaya is known for her role of Rocky Blue on Disney Channel's "Shake It Up." The 19-year-old also joined the 16th season of "Dancing With the Stars," becoming the show's youngest participant at the age of 16. She currently features on another Disney Channel series "K.C. Undercover" in the lead role of K.C. Cooper and also made a guest appearance on "Black-ish." She is repped by CAA and Monster Talent Management.

Holland was cast as Spider-Man back in July 2015 and before we see him play Spidey in his standalone film, he will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Joe and Anthony Russo-directed film, "Captain America: Civil War."

The "Spider-Man" reboot is slated to hit theaters on July 7, 2017 and it looks as though nerdy Peter Parker has become quite the ladies' man.
