When Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor is on the field, opposing offenses tend to key on him in an effort to limit the quasi-linebacker/safety's immense ability to impact the game. Chancellor is a rarity in the NFL - a backend presence big enough to lay the wood, but athletic enough to play the pass.

In other words, Chancellor is a bad man. But only on an NFL field. In the locker room and out in the community, he's viewed as one of the nicest, most easy-going players on the Seattle team. But not everyone in the state of Washington knows who Chancellor is and when his 6-foot-3, 232-pound frame walks in the door, it's understandable if it causes a bit of a stir.

In a strange case of mistaken identity - or, more accurately, mistaken motives - Chancellor had the police called on him by two female employees at a gym in Washington because they believed the big safety was attempting to rob the business. Ironically, Chancellor told the police he was actually considering buying the place, which had lost its lease and closed on Monday.

Chancellor chronicled the ordeal on his twitter account.

"The funniest thing just happened too me in Redmond," he wrote. "I went to go get info on a gym that was closed and two ladies called the cops on me. They told the cops I was trying to rob the place because I was looking into the glass asking for help.

"Good thing the cops know I'm a good guy and stealing isn't in my blood. I work for everything I get."

He added that he sorely wished he could post a picture of the look of disgust on the face of one of the employees.

Chancellor, 27, was with a group of four other adults who were, according to the employee who called the police, outside the gym, banging on the door and looking in the window.

The employees apparently told police they "felt unsettled."

Police arrived just as Chancellor and his group were leaving. They knew full well who Chancellor was and it seemed to have left them a little star struck, with a police spokesperson gushing that officers had a "great interaction" with Chancellor, who they said was "super positive" and a "super nice guy."

Police fangirl moment or no though, it truly is impressive that Chancellor was able to keep his cool throughout the situation.
